Pulmonary Rehabilitation

Grand View Health offers a pulmonary rehabilitation program that works to reduce symptoms, improve quality of life and increase participation in everyday activities. Pulmonary rehab is an individually designed program of education, exercise and breathing retraining for people with pulmonary disease.

Improving Your Quality of Life

Pulmonary rehabilitation relieves symptoms of chronic respiratory conditions such as COPD, which includes emphysema, asthma and chronic bronchitis. Other conditions include pulmonary fibrosis, sarcoidosis and occupational or environmental disease.

With a goal of improving your overall wellness and quality of life, our individualized treatment plans focus on disease management, breathing retraining, as well as strength and endurance to:

  • Decrease symptoms of your disease
  • Increase your ability to function better in your daily life
  • Increase your ability to exercise
  • Better manage related anxiety and depression

Our program is accredited through the American Association of Cardiovascular and Pulmonary Rehabilitation (AACVPR). A physician’s order is required for admission. Recent pulmonary function test results will qualify patients to participate in the program. Learn more about testing.

Medicare and most major insurance companies cover all or part of the cost of pulmonary rehabilitation.
