Grand View Health has received five stars for overall hospital quality from the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) in the most recent rankings released today.
Five stars is the highest CMS rating available. Only 13% of the 2,847 hospitals rated by CMS nationwide earned a five-star rating in the July 2024 rankings.
“Earning five stars is a tremendous accomplishment because it speaks to the exceptional quality of care people that people in our community can expect from Grand View,” said Michael Prasto, MD, Vice President and Chief Medical Officer at Grand View Health.
The 2024 Overall Star Ratings are based on 46 hospital quality measures that CMS publicly reports. The measures are broken out into five groups: mortality, safety of care, readmission, patient experience, and timely and effective care. The July 2024 rankings reflect data collected in January 2024, according to the CMS website.
“We are exceptionally proud to be among the nation’s elite hospitals with five stars for overall quality,” said Doug Hughes, RN, BSN, MBA, President and CEO, Grand View Health. “I applaud the efforts of every single member of our organization for providing safe, efficient and effective quality care on a consistent basis.”
