The Bucks County Foundation, a charitable trust created to serve Bucks County and its residents, announced today that it has awarded a $10,000 grant to Grand View Health Foundation’s This Is Us Together campaign.

The grant will help improve critical healthcare infrastructure by supporting the new six-story, 190,000-square-foot Grand View Hospital pavilion that will open here next summer. To recognize the grant, the Bucks County Foundation name will adorn an office that will be located in the expanded Emergency Department, which is planned for the first floor of the new pavilion.

“Our foundation helps generous people who care about Bucks County leave a lasting legacy for the causes and people who need them,” says Mandy Mundy, Executive Director, Bucks County Foundation. “We are pleased to award this grant that we know will help continue the legacy of care Grand View Health has created in our community for nearly 110 years.”

The foundation, founded in 1979, has provided more than $3 million in scholarships for Bucks County students to attend college. It also regularly awards grants to nonprofit organizations in Bucks County that work to address unmet needs such as poverty, housing, education, arts and the environment.

The Bucks County Foundation is the latest regional partner to support This Is Us Together, which is over halfway toward its fundraising goal of $14 million. “We have been heartened and emboldened by the tremendous support we’ve received from our community as we build the future of healthcare right here in Bucks County,” says Sandy Alderfer, Grand View Health Foundation Board Chair and Campaign Chair.

Grand View Hospital’s new pavilion, which the campaign supports, will include 52 private patient rooms, 10 state-of-the-art operating rooms, and a new Emergency Department and rooftop helipad to support Grand View Health’s Level II Adult Trauma Center, the only level II trauma center in Upper Bucks County and Northern Montgomery County.

“Our new pavilion will support our best-in-class healthcare services inside a state-of-the-art facility,” said Douglas Hughes, RN, BSN, MBA, President and Chief Executive Officer of Grand View Health. “Together with partners like the Bucks County Foundation and the support of individuals, businesses and groups throughout our community, we’ll ensure we’re always ready and available to provide the right care, at the right time, right here—close to home.”
