Updated Visitation Policy for Clergy

The COVID-19 pandemic compels us to make difficult decisions regarding the spiritual support we can offer patients. We remain vigilant to ensure the safety and protection of our patients, community and our workforce and we find a more limited visitor policy is necessary.

Community clergy will only be permitted to visit patients who are nearing end of life and may visit only to offer last rites. Eucharistic ministers may not visit to offer communion. Pastoral care services are available at Grand View Health to support and attend to patients’ diverse spiritual needs.

Everyone entering a Grand View Health location is required to wear a mask. Please bring your own clean or recently laundered fabric mask. We are working to assure we have adequate supplies for our workforce during the COVID-19 outbreak. If you do not have a mask, one will be provided.

In accordance with the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) recommendations and Governor Wolf’s directives, all patients will wear a surgical mask at all times except when in a room alone. This includes:

  • On entrance to the hospital.
  • When being transported.
  • When a health care worker or other visitor enters their room.
