Colorectal Cancer Screenings Recommended for Adults Ages 45 – 75

Regular screening for colorectal cancer is the key to detecting it in its earliest and most preventable stages. In 2023, major regulatory bodies and health insurers are in agreement with updated quality metric guidelines that recommend colorectal screening for adults ages 45 – 75.

These include recommendations from the U.S. Preventive Services Task Force (USPSTF) and the Healthcare Effectiveness Data and Information Set (HEDIS), which is one of the most widely used performance improvement tools by health plans.

“March is Colorectal Cancer Awareness Month, and I encourage everyone ages 45 – 75 to talk with their physician and get screened,” says colorectal surgeon Daniel Latta, MD, with Grand View Health Surgery.
