Grand View Health Welcomes New Medical Staff Leadership for 2025

Grand View Health is pleased to announce the appointment of two distinguished doctors to lead the Grand View Hospital Medical Staff in 2025.

Suzann Szewczak, DO, will step into the role of President of the Medical Staff, succeeding the successful tenure of Thomas Paparella, DO, who served as President from 2021 – 2024. David Scaff, DO, will serve as Vice President of the Medical Staff. Both appointments will take effect on Feb. 1, 2025 ensuring a seamless transition.

“Dr. Paparella led our medical staff through the construction of The Pavilion at Grand View Health and the COVID-19 pandemic, and we’re grateful for his outstanding leadership over the years,” says Michael Prasto, MD, Vice President and Chief Medical Officer at Grand View Health. “Drs. Szewczak and Scaff are respected physicians, leaders and communicators who are well suited to lead our Medical Staff and support our physicians in delivering the highest quality of patient care.”

Dr. Szewczak is a board-certified family medicine physician with Grand View Health Primary Care Lederach. She’s served patients in her community for two decades, drawing high praise from her patients and other physicians. Dr. Szewczak received her medical degree from Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine. She completed her Family Medicine Residency at St. Luke’s Bethlehem.

Dr. Scaff is a double-board-certified General and Trauma / Critical Care surgeon who serves as the Trauma Program Medical Director at Grand View Health Trauma Program at Grand View Health. A general and trauma surgeon for nearly 20 years, Dr. Scaff previously served as Trauma Medical Director at Lehigh Valley – Pocono and served on the Pennsylvania Trauma Systems Foundation before joining Grand View in 2020. He earned his medical degree from Western University of Health Sciences, completed General Surgery residency at St. Luke’s University Health Network and a two-year Trauma / Critical Care fellowship at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania.
