Dr. Claresa Levetan of Grand View Health Endocrinology is always seeking innovative patient-centered strategies to support and motivate those on the road to tracking their A1c. A recent addition to her office is this Diabetes Wall of Fame poster in her Lansdale practice.
“It’s just a fun way for patients track improvements in their A1C and it improves accountability,” she adds. Patients use first-names only to comply with HIPAA.
Dr. Levetan served on the NIH and CDC panels and is an ardent advocate for getting the word out about A1c. She was a researcher on the NIH Diabetes Prevention study and played an integral role in the development and promotion of the A1C test.
March 22 was Diabetes Alert Day, established with the goal of raising awareness to the seriousness of diabetes and the importance of understanding risk.
