We Would Like To Tell You About Our Daughter

Sarah E. (Ott) Carlin

Sarah was a talented young social worker. A loving wife and devoted mom. A passionate advocate for children and a vital part of Montgomery County’s Early Intervention Services team. She would light up a room with her infectious laugh, warm smile and caring personality. She inspired her co-workers and her clients.

Sadly, in July 2020, a tragic accident took Sarah from us. While we awaited word on her condition at the hospital where she was sent, we sought solace in a private room, where we could process our emotions as best as possible.

That experience — and Sarah’s willingness to always help others — inspired us to give back. We’re on a mission to create comforting and welcoming waiting spaces at Grand View Health, where Judith serves on the Board of Trustees. These spaces will be part of the hospital’s pavilion project, which will include a new Emergency Department and Level II Trauma Center. And they will provide an inviting environment for families of all backgrounds who must deal with raw emotions — sometimes for hours — in an unfamiliar environment.

Please help us honor Sarah’s memory and help others by supporting the creation of these caring environments. We know it’s a project Sarah would embrace wholeheartedly.

With great affection and in loving memory of Sarah.

Stanley and Judith Ott
