Grand View has been recognized in the following three categories:
Get With The Guidelines® – Stroke Gold Plus Award
Get With The Guidelines – Heart Failure Gold Plus Quality Achievement Award
Get With The Guidelines – Atrial Fibrillation Silver Award
“We continually strive to deliver the highest level of care for our stroke and heart patients. Following the American Heart Association’s Get With The Guidelines recommendations helps us track and measure our success and continuously improve patient care,” says Jane Ferry, Chief Medical Officer, Grand View Health. The hospital is certified as a Primary Stroke Center by the American Heart Association/American Stroke Association (AHA/ASA).
According to the AHA/ASA, stroke is the No. 5 cause of death and a leading cause of adult disability in the United States. Atrial fibrillation, is a heart condition that accounts for about one-third of rhythm disturbances and is associated with a five-fold increased risk of stroke. Proper treatment of atrial fibrillation can reduce the risk of stroke.
Heart failure affects more than 6.5 million adults in the United States and individuals with heart failure that is not well-managed typically experience frequent, recurrent hospitalization. Proper medication management, utilization of implantable devices and consistent healthy lifestyle choices, can help people with heart failure lead a full, enjoyable life and reduce hospitalizations.
