Contactless Drop-Off for Unwanted Medications on Saturday

October 23rd, 2020

Do you have unused, unneeded or expired medications lying around your house? If so, drop them off at Grand View Hospital on Saturday, Oct. 24.

We’re taking part in the U.S. Drug Enforcement Agency’s (DEA) National Rx TakeBack Day.

You can drop off prescriptions in the green MedReturn box. It’s located just steps inside the main Grand View Hospital entrance and offers you a contactless way to safely dispose of medications.

Medications we will accept:

  • Prescription and over-the-counter solid medications (such as tablets and capsules)
  • Liquid medications, inhalers, creams, ointments or nasal sprays
  • Pet medications

Medications we will not accept:

  • Injectables or needles
  • Illicit substances such as marijuana or methamphetamine

Please wear a mask and respect social distancing while dropping off medications.

The DEA designs its TakeBack Day events to help people properly dispose of medications. Doing so helps to prevent drug addiction and overdose deaths.
