Grand View Health today announced that The Joint Center has earned its fourth consecutive Gold Seal of Approval® by The Joint Commission for its hip and knee replacement programs. The Gold Seal of Approval® is a symbol of quality that reflects an organization’s commitment to providing safe and effective patient care.
In February 2016, Grand View Health underwent a rigorous, unannounced on-site review by The Joint Commission. During this review, a team of Joint Commission expert surveyors evaluated The Joint Center for its compliance and the effective and consistent use of evidence-based clinical standards of care specific to the needs of joint replacement patients. The Joint Center staff is responsible for presenting a process and commitment to performance improvement in order to maintain these certifications awarded by The Joint Commission.
“Grand View Health has thoroughly demonstrated a high level of care for patients with hip and knee replacement procedures,” said Wendi J. Roberts, RN, executive director, Certification Programs, The Joint Commission. “We commend Grand View Health for becoming a leader in hip and knee replacements, potentially providing a higher standard of service for patients in its community.”
“Our team is thrilled that The Joint Commission continues to recognize the level of care and clinical excellence we offer at The Joint Center,” added Janice Hunsberger, RN, ONC, Joint Center Coordinator at Grand View Health. “The Gold Seal of Approval® reaffirms the staff’s commitment to a high standard of service as we strive to improve patient outcomes and overall joint health in the community.”
Dedicated to serving the community for the prevention, diagnosis and treatment of diseases and injuries of the musculoskeletal system, The Joint Center has performed more than 5,000 total hip, knee, shoulder, ankle and elbow replacement procedures since 2003.
