An orthopaedic surgeon is a physician who specializes in the musculoskeletal system, which includes joints, bones, tendons, muscles, and nerves. Most orthopaedic surgeons specialize in a particular area of the body such as the knee, hip, shoulder, back, foot, ankle, and others.
Together, you and your orthopaedic surgeon decide when it is time for you to undergo a joint replacement. As your surgeon, he/she performs your joint replacement and handles your follow-up care.
Orthopaedic surgeons on Grand View’s medical staff are among the most experienced in the area.
Janice Hunsberger, RN
Joint Replacement Center Coordinator
As the Joint Replacement Center Coordinator, Hunsberger works closely with you and your family to put your personal care plan into action. She meets with you daily during your stay to monitor your progress and recovery, helps you plan for your discharge, and contacts you after discharge to check on your progress.
With more than 30 years of experience in orthopaedics, Hunsberger is the national recipient of the Outstanding Orthopaedic Nurse Practice Award from the National Association of Orthopaedic Nurses. She has been with Grand View for more than 30 years and has served as the Joint Replacement Center Coordinator since 2002.
