Grand View Health has earned its eighth “A” in a row for patient safety from The Leapfrog Group for its efforts in protecting patients from harm and meeting the highest safety standards in the U.S.
The Leapfrog Group aims to improve healthcare quality and safety for consumers and purchasers. Its safety grade assigns an A, B, C, D or F grade to hospitals across the country based on their performance in preventing medical errors, infections and other harms to patients in their care.
“Patient safety is a priority at Grand View and receiving national recognition for these efforts is proof of our enduring commitment to provide patients with the highest standards of care. We are proud to receive our eighth consecutive ‘A’ grade from The Leapfrog Group” said Jean M. Keeler, JD, President and Chief Executive Officer (CEO), Grand View Health.
The Leapfrog Hospital Safety Grade uses 27 measures of publicly available hospital safety data to assign grades to approximately 2,500 U.S. hospitals twice per year. It is peer reviewed, fully transparent and free to the public. Grand View Health was one of 855 hospitals across the county to receive an “A” grade.
