Breast care continues to be a top priority for Grand View Health. We screen more than 15,000 women annually, while aiming to prevent, diagnose and treat patients with breast conditions through a multidisciplinary approach. This approach combines enhanced patient education, aggressive treatment options, advanced technologies, comprehensive therapy services and supportive staff.

The Breast Care Program includes a variety of medical professionals, specifically trained to care for and improve your breast health. From a breast care navigator to a mammographer and breast surgeon, we are committed to building relationships to help women in our community stay healthy.  Grand View has been designated as a Breast Imaging Center of Excellence by the American College of Radiology (ACR) and accredited by the National Accreditation Program for Breast Centers (NAPBC), which both aid in advancing our efforts to ensure patients receive the high quality care they deserve – close to home.

How is breast cancer diagnosed?

Breast cancer is diagnosed through our multidisciplinary team approach. Diagnostic imaging, such as a mammogram or ultrasound, is used to analyze and define the suspicious area in your breast that may be cancer. Learn more about our diagnostic imaging services.

What can I expect if something is found?

If something is found on your imaging results, our breast care navigator will contact you to schedule an appointment right away, often times the very next day, in order to review the findings with our experienced breast care team. We will work with you to create a custom action plan which may require a breast biopsy, further testing or surgery. Meet our comprehensive cancer team.

What if I need a breast biopsy?

A breast biopsy may be ordered so our physicians can better understand if the suspicious area in your breast is benign or malignant (cancer). There are different types of breast biopsies that can be done, which your physician will go over with you and help you choose the best one for your specific case. Learn more about breast biopsies.
