Award winner Gail Drew, RN

Grand View Health announced Gail Drew, RN, as the recipient of the 2017 Ellis Greenspan Memorial Award. Gail joined Grand View in 2009 and is a full-time registered nurse on the progressive care unit.

The award was established in memory of Ellis Greenspan by his son, Mitchell M. Greenspan, MD, a cardiologist, and other members of the family. It is presented annually to recognize a registered nurse at Grand View who serves as a role model of nursing professionalism and delivers excellence in patient care. Compassion, understanding and exceptional communication skills are among the nomination criteria. Gail was nominated by her co-workers.

Gail and the other nominees were recognized at a special ceremony held on Monday, May 15, attended by Dr. Greenspan and family, physicians and staff, and other members of the Grand View community. Patients and their families, as well as Grand View staff and physicians, make nominations for the Greenspan award each spring.
