Your Stay at GVH
Insurance and Financial Concerns
Understanding Your Insurance Coverage
Grand View Hospital is an acute-care facility. This means that our patients
must require a high level of care or observation, and all admissions and continuing hospital stays will be reviewed to assure they are medically necessary.
Medicare, Medical Assistance and other insurances will pay hospital bills only as long as you need acute medical and nursing care that cannot be provided in another setting. If, for some reason, your insurance plan will not pay for your care, contact the Case Management Department at extension 4487.
Hospital Billing and Payment Policy
Your health insurance policy is a contract between you and your insurance company. As you are aware, hospitalization insurance plans often do not provide full coverage of your hospital bill. Although Grand View will cooperate in facilitating the filing of your claim, you are ultimately responsible for your account.
The hospital accepts Medicare, Medical Assistance, Blue Cross and most commercial insurance plans. Prior to leaving the hospital, you or a family member must visit the Cashier and Credit Office (located in the main lobby) to make sure all insurance information has been provided and to pay for personal charges, such as telephone and television. Should you desire an itemized statement of your hospital bill, one may be obtained upon request.
Charity Care/Financial Assistance
Grand View Hospital is proud of its mission to provide quality care to the communities which we serve, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year.
If you do not have health insurance or worry that you may not be able to pay for part or all of your care, we may be able to help. Grand View Hospital provides charity care to patients based on their income, assets, and financial needs. In addition, we may be able to help you apply for insurance coverage through the State Medical Assistance Program or to work with you to arrange a manageable payment plan.
For more information, please contact the Hospital Patient Financial Services at 215-453-4608. We will treat your questions and any information you provide us with confidentiality and courtesy.
