Grand View Hospital is committed to helping you make informed decisions about your healthcare choices by sharing information about the care we provide. In this section of our web site, we make objective, quality-related data, developed through a process known as benchmarking, available to our community.

Benchmarking is used in the healthcare industry to help identify the clinical practices which deliver the best patient outcomes. Simply put, it involves comparing how we deliver care to recognized and proven standards which help patients live longer and healthier lives.

Several state and national organizations lead these efforts through the collection and sharing of these “best practices”. The Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services, the federal agency which oversees Medicare, has developed a website to help consumers compare how well hospitals comply with these scientifically recognized standards. (www.hospitalcompare.hhs.gov)

These standards are known as Core Measures and to date have been developed for the treatment of Heart Attack, Pneumonia, Heart Failure, and Surgery Care. Patients who receive care consistent with Core Measures have less complications, fewer relapses and overall improved outcomes.

Grand View invites you to view our benchmarked quality ratings. Please visit our web site often for updates on how we are doing in caring for you and our community.
