Community Gets Sneak Peek at New Facility in Grand View Hospital
Joint Replacement/Orthopaedic Center Community Open House Attracts Nearly 300 Visitors
(Published January 22, 2008) Nearly 300 people toured the Joint Replacement/Orthopaedic Center at Grand View Hospital during a community open house on Saturday, Jan. 12. Orthopaedic nurses led the tours and provided information on joint replacement surgery and recovery. Guests also heard testimonials from former Grand View joint replacement patients and had the opportunity to talk with orthopaedic surgeon Paul Weidner, MD, of Upper Bucks Orthopaedic Associates, as well as Grand View Hospital occupational and physical therapists.
“Our guests, whether or not they’ve already had a joint replacement, were eager to learn about the new center and what it offers, and our staff was proud to show it off,” says Vice President of Patient Services, Darla Weaver, RN.
The new Joint Replacement/Orthopaedic Center at Grand View Hospital combines the clinical expertise and compassionate care that patients have grown to expect from Grand View Hospital with new, private rooms and a spacious, multi-purpose gym that is also used as a patient and family lounging area.
“We already offer modern advances in surgical techniques and technologies such as minimally-invasive and computer-assisted surgeries, allowing many joint replacement patients to live more active, comfortable lifestyles after surgery,” says Dr. Weidner. “This new center, with all that it offers, only enhances the patient’s stay with us,” Dr. Weidner adds.
