Grand View Hospital Partners with Freedom Calls Foundation to Provide Video Conference to Link Marine in Iraq with Wife and Newborn Child
(Published January 11, 2008) – Although separated from his family by over 6,000 miles, U.S. Marine Cpl. Daniel A. Gonzalez will be reunited with his wife – and see his newborn child for the first time – with the help of the Freedom Calls Foundation and Grand View Hospital. Just one day after giving birth to her new son, Ixmucane Gonzalez will be able to visit with her husband – something she thought would be impossible just weeks ago.
Daniel Alejadro Gonzalez, Jr. was delivered by Drs. Fereydoon Adibi, MD and Jennifer Landes, DO at 4:02 pm Friday, January 11. He weighed in at eight pounds, eight ounces and measured 19 ¼ inches long. Both the mother and baby are doing well, according to Dr. Landes.
On Saturday, January 12 at 11 am, the Gonzalez family will take part in a video conference linking the two parties: Cpl. Gonzalez from Al Asad Airbase in Iraq and Ixmucane and Daniel, Jr. from Grand View Hospital in Sellersville, Pa.
