Ellis Greenspan Memorial Award

(Published January 18, 2006) WEST ROCKHILL TOWNSHIP, PA – Grand View Hospital is currently accepting nominations from community residents or Grand View staff members for the Ellis Greenspan Memorial Award. Grand View cardiologist Mitchell M. Greenspan, M.D. and his family established the award in memory of Dr. Greenspan’s father, Ellis. It is presented each year to a Grand View Hospital registered nurse or licensed practical nurse. The criteria for nominating someone for the award includes the following:

  • Consistently demonstrates compassion, care and understanding of a patient or patient’s family during the course of his or her illness and that care symbolizes the “heart of nursing”.
  • Displays exceptional communication skills with patients, patients’ families and colleagues.
  • Serves as a role model to colleagues and promotes the professional image of nursing by demonstrating consistent excellence in patient care.

Nominations are requested from patients, patients’ families, or Grand View staff or physicians who wish to recognize a particular nurse. Nominations must be received by Wednesday, March 1.
