Medicine at High Point brings the quality
medical care that has always been associated
with Grand View Hospital to the
people of New Britain Township and surrounding
areas. Our conveniently located
office has two doctors, Neil Mathews, MD
and Jennifer O’Connor, MD. As a result,
our physicians and professional staff provide
you with friendly and personal care.
Hours
Day and evening hours are available
including 24-hour coverage for week-ends
and holidays.

annual gynecological

anxiety, depression and other chronic

Our Physicians
Neil Mathews, MD
Dr. Neil Mathews is a
board certified family
physician and a member
of the American Academy
of Family Physicians and
the American College of
Sports Medicine. He
received his medical
degree from the Medical
College of Virginia and
completed his residency
at Bryn Mawr Hospital.
His training includes a Fellowship in Sports Medicine
at Thomas Jefferson University in Philadelphia, where
he was an Assistant Medical Physician to the Philadelphia
Eagles.
He served as a general medical officer
in the U.S. Navy, including a five-month deployment
to Bosnia, where he was awarded a Navy Commendation
Medal.
Personally, he grew up in Plymouth
Meeting and currently resides in Harleysville with his
wife, son and two daughters.
Jennifer O’Connor, MD
A board certified family
physician, Dr. Jennifer
O’Connor is a member
of the American Academy
of Family Physicians, the
Bucks County Medical
Society and American
Medical Women’s Association.
She received her
medical degree from MCPHahnemann
School of
Medicine and completed
her residency training at Abington Memorial
Hospital.
She studied biology as an undergraduate
at Villanova University where she was a Villanova
Scholar and a member of the rowing team. She
was born and raised in Bucks County and lives in
Lansdale with her husband and two sons.
The following information summarizes
some specific information about
our office that you may find helpful.
Insurance
We accept most insurance plans including
Aetna, Keystone, Personal Choice,
Medicare, Cigna, Blue Cross and many
others. Please check with your insurance
company if you have questions.
Referrals
If you are a member of a Health
Maintenance Organization (HMO),
your health plan may require you to
obtain a referral from your family
doctor before seeing a specialist. When
requesting a referral, please call with
your appointment time, include the
specialist’s name and phone number,
the diagnosis and any procedures
needed. Our office requires 72 hours
to process your request, so please call
us at least three working days before
your scheduled appointment with the
specialist.
Medication Refills
Most medications can be refilled
over the phone without seeing the
doctor. Please allow 24 to 48 hours
to refill maintenance medications.
Test Results
Most results are available 48 to 72
hours after the test is completed. Please
call after this time to discuss the results
with the nurse or doctor. Do not assume
that the results are negative if you do
not receive a call.
Emergency Care
Dr. Mathews or Dr. O’Connor is
available by phone until 8 pm each
weekday evening. After that time,
another Grand View physician is
available for your urgent questions.
Simply call the office number and you
will be connected to the answering
service. If you are an HMO patient
and desire to go to the Emergency
Room, please call the doctor on call
for insurance authorization.
| If you have an emergency or health problem that could be life threatening, please go immediately to the nearest emergency room or call 911. Please call our office as soon as you are able. |
