Parenting Programs

Grand View Hospital offers programs to guide you through parenting with confidence and knowledge. Classes are held at Grand View Hospital and at our Outpatient Centers in Harleysville and Pennsburg.

Little Kids & Babies
Through stories and activities, this class for children age two through five, provides basic information about how and where babies grow during pregnancy, how they will be born and what new babies are like.

Big Kids & Babies
This two-part series for children age five through 10 includes discussions of how babies are nourished, how they will be born and what they will look like. Stories and activities help children explore their feelings.

Grandparenting Today
What has changed in birthing and parenting practices? How can I help with the new baby without hindering? Learn the answers to these questions and more. Everyone benefits from a strong bond between grandparents and grandchildren. Parents may attend at no charge.

Postpartum Consultation
A registered nurse certified in childbirth education is available for new mothers experiencing postpartum depression or adjustment difficulties.

Toddler Steps Play Group
Talk with other parents and a registered nurse while your toddler plays with others. Join us for this playtime for toddlers and discussion time for parents. Bring toys and snacks that your child is willing to share. Babies welcome.

Weigh & Learn for New Parents
Join us for a discussion of various topics relating to the care of infants up to one year of age. Meet other parents and share the joys and frustrations of parenthood. Sessions include an optional weight check for your baby. Babies welcome.

RTS Bereavement Support
This program provides support and services for parents experiencing miscarriage, stillbirth or the death of a newborn. A certified grieving counselor specializing in pregnancy loss coordinates the program designed to meet the needs of parents and families as they grieve the loss of their baby.
