Annual Report 2004
Building on Tradition
Letter from the Chairmen
Dear Friends,
These are exciting and energizing times at Grand View Hospital. We have embarked on the largest and perhaps most significant expansion and renovation project in the hospitals history. A thorough analysis of our community and the capabilities of the hospital has led to the development of a comprehensive Master Facilities Plan.
Over a period of several years, the plan calls for a major commitment to increasing ambulatory care access in our community through the construction of two new outpatient centers, one in Sellersville, the other in Lower Salford Township. The plan also provides for substantial renovations and new construction on Grand Views main campus in order to expand capacity and enhance existing services. On August 16, we achieved the first portion of this important and necessary venture with the opening of the Grand View Hospital Outpatient Center at Harleysville in Lower Salford Township.
Updating of a comprehensive Strategic Plan is underway in an effort to address current and foreseeable community needs. Through the efforts of Stuart Fine, Chief Executive Officer, and the senior management of the hospital, with input from clinical and service providers at the hospital, and contributions and approval from the Board of Trustees, this process has been a true team effort. The resulting plan will represent not only a blueprint for Grand Views expansion, but a model for how a responsible leadership meets the challenges of a growing community, while remaining true to mission and core values.
Fiscal responsibility has been an important consideration in planning each phase of our new expansion. We have a responsibility to protect the vital community resource that is Grand View Hospital.
The hospitals mission, however, was the most significant factor behind the selection of all services and facilities to be added or constructed in the course of this endeavor. Grand View remains committed to our tradition of providing the most advanced, comprehensive care available in our region, to meet the needs of the people we serve.
To fulfill Grand Views mission, we rely upon the continuing support and friendship of our community members. Thank you for allowing us to serve you.
