Looking to the Future

Dear Friends:

The communities served by Grand View Hospital have experienced incredible growth in recent years. Since 1990, the population of some local areas has grown by as much as 50 percent. Grand View's service area now encompasses more than 350,000 people.

With this growth comes both tremendous opportunity and exciting challenges for Grand View. Our region is changing, bursting with new homes and businesses. The Hospital's mission, however, remains the same—providing access to quality, compassionate healthcare to every member of our communities. Grand View also remains committed to our tradition of developing new services and facilities that meet the changing needs of our region.

The last year saw Grand View Hospital marking many milestones in fulfilling its mission. The completed renovation of the Radiation Oncology Center, which included the replacement of the previous linear accelerator with new state-of-the-art technology was among the first. Grand View also improved access to healthcare in the southern portion of our service area with the opening of the High Point Cancer Center in New Britain Township. As a free community service, the maternity unit began testing all newborns for early diagnosis of hearing impairment. The completion of the brand new Magnetic Resonance Imaging Suite followed, making this powerful diagnostic tool available on-site at the Hospital for the first time.

Also during the year, access to obstetric and gynecologic care was enhanced through the opening of physician offices at the Seventh Street Medical Center in Pennsburg and at the High Point Professional Center in New Britain Township. We look forward to the addition of a family medicine office in High Point, as well.

A special highlight of the year was Grand View's recognition as having one of the Top 100 Intensive Care Units in the country. The award, the Top 100 Hospitals in ICU, was based upon an independent national study conducted by the Solucient Leadership Institute. The Top 100 designation means that Grand View has achieved superior clinical outcomes while delivering care in a cost-effective manner, and is a tribute to every Grand View Hospital employee, from every part of the Hospital.

Looking to the future, we will continue to build upon our 88 years of experience. We will continue seeking new directions for Grand View to grow in order to meet the needs of our communities, and your expectations for high-quality healthcare because, as the county's first hospital, we know...the more experience, the better.
