Stroke Rehabilitation Program at Grand View Hospital

The Stroke Rehabilitation Program at Grand View Hospital features a team approach to stroke treatment and recovery. Just as stroke affects people differently, each patient's ability to recover from a stroke is unique. Therefore, we tailor our approach to your symptoms, needs, and abilities. The sooner you start stroke rehabilitation, the more likely you will benefit from it. In fact, your doctor will likely start your stroke rehabilitation within 24 to 48 hours of your stroke.

Inpatient Stroke Rehabilitation
The Stroke Program at Grand View Hospital has a dynamic inpatient unit designed to help you while you are still in the hospital. In addition to receiving outstanding nursing care, you typically begin your stroke therapy while in our inpatient unit. Our Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation Department staff evaluates your needs and may recommend physical, occupational, and/or speech therapy. Our therapists provide stroke education and encourage you and your family to take an active role in your recovery, to help you heal more quickly.

Going Home After a Stroke

Our case managers will coordinate your discharge from the hospital. We then help you arrange for the services you need to continue your stroke recovery at home. If you require more intense care, we will help coordinate further stroke rehabilitation in an acute rehabilitation setting or assisted living community.

Outpatient Stroke Rehabilitation
Once home, you may continue to receive outpatient therapy from Grand View's Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation Department at our conveniently located Grand View Hospital Outpatient Center at Sellersville. We also offer outpatient physical therapy through Grand View Sports Medicine.
