To schedule birth preparation classes, call the Grand View Information Line at 215-453-4300. Registration is required for all classes, unless otherwise indicated.
Prenatal Education
Labor & Birth Series (four-week series) - Gain an understanding of the process of labor and birth while learning relaxation and breathing exercises and other ways to make yourself comfortable.
Expressly Yours (two-week series) - This series is designed for expectant parents who, because of time constraints, are unable to attend the standard four-week Labor Birth series.
Tour the Maternity Unit - Call Central Scheduling at 215-453-4100 to schedule an appointment. Tours are held most Saturdays and Sundays.
Breastfeeding Basics - Learn the benefits of breastfeeding, tips for a positive start, and how to handle common problems for mother and baby.
Newborn Care (two week series) - Learn about the appearance and individuality of newborns, how to prepare for the homecoming, and the first few months of parenting.
Epidural Anesthesia Options - this online video will be replacing our Anesthesia Options class effective Dec 2011. Click here to view the video and frequently asked questions page.
Car Seat Checks - Make sure your car seat is installed correctly with a certified car seat technician. FREE. Car seat checks are held on the second and fourth Tuesdays each month. Call 215-453-4300 to register
Prenatal Yoga - This special program helps strengthen pelvic muscles, improve circulation, and aid with nausea, constipation, and back pain.
For Kids
Grand New Youth - A pediatric weight management & healthy lifestyle program for children ages 4 through 17.
Little Kids & Babies - Through stories and activities, this class for children age 2 through 5, provides basic information about how and where babies grow during pregnancy, how they will be born and what new babies are like.
Big Kids & Babies - This two-part series for children age 5 through 10 includes discussions of how babies are nourished, how they will be born and what they will look like.
For New Parents
Weigh & Learn for New Parents - Join us for a discussion of various topics relating to the care of infants up to one year of age (registration not required).
Toddler Steps Play Group - Talk with other parents and a registered nurse while your toddler plays with other tots (registration not required).
Infant Massage - A great tool to calm a restless baby and may improve your baby's digestion and overall health.
Baby Talk & Sign Language - Learn basic signs to help your pre-verbal baby communicate needs and reduce temper tantrums

Lactation Consultations - Consultations are available by appointment with a certified lactation consultant. Arrangements can be made for home visits if necessary. Call 215-453-4594 to make an appointment.
Postpartum Consultations - Consultations are available by appointment for those experiencing postpartum depression or adjustment difficulties. Call 215-453-4594 to make an appointment.
For Families
Grandparenting Today - Everyone benefits when there's a strong bond between grandparents and grandchildren.
CPR/First Aid/Babysitting preparation - Call North Penn Visiting Nurses Association at 215-855-6191 for additional information. Attendees for babysitting program must be 11 years and older.
