Operating Room Liaison Program at Grand View Hospital

Have you ever dreamed of helping others, but aren't sure what you can do? If you have, consider being an Operating Room (OR) liaison. As an OR liaison, you will serve an important role in helping patients and Grand View’s Medical/Surgical staff.

What Would I Do As an Operating Room Liaison Volunteer?
As a volunteer, you will be a liaison between patients undergoing medical/surgical procedures families of patients, and the department's staff. You will chat with patients and family members, answer phones, and convey information to patients and their families in the waiting room. Also, you will direct patients and their families to the patient registration area, the cafeteria, gift shop, restrooms, vending machines, and ATMs. You will also accurately convey family questions and concerns to staff.

How Often Will I Volunteer?
That is up to you. OR liaisons can volunteer as often as they want. Three shifts are available: Monday - Friday; 7:30 am-11:30 am, 11:30 am-3 pm, or 3-6 pm.

Is Training Provided?
Yes, training is provided through the Grand View Volunteer Department.
