Rebecca Nice, DO, Receives Christopher Dock Young Alumni Award
|(August 19, 2010) Sellersville, PA – Rebecca Nice, DO, a member of the Grand View Hospital medical staff, has been named Young Alumni of the Year by Christopher Dock Mennonite High School of which she is a 1995 graduate. This award recognizes a male and female alumni who demonstrate academic, spiritual, and lifestyle practices outlined in the school’s graduate profile. Dr. Nice, a family physician and specialist in alternative medicine, will be recognized along with other award recipients during Christopher Dock’s Homecoming Weekend, October 15-17.
Called to medicine at an early age, Dr. Nice discovered her true passion lies in prevention and treatment of disease. She chose to be an osteopathic physician based on a belief that a blend of mind, body, and spirit facilitates the healing process. Answering her calling, Dr. Nice opened her medical practice, Wellness Works, located in Chalfont, in 2009. The mission of Wellness Works is to provide an alternative medicine facility that blends various therapies, disciplines, and eastern and western traditions for a unique approach to health care individualized to each person. Dr. Nice works with nutrition and supplementation, lifestyle changes, and osteopathic manipulative medicine along with applicable traditional western medicine. Dr. Nice received a bachelor’s degree in biology from Eastern Mennonite University and her doctor of osteopathy degree from Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine in 2004. She completed an internship and residency in family medicine at St. Joseph Medical Center in Reading where she served as Co-Chief Resident in her third year. She has additional experience in both emergency medicine and urgent care and is board-certified in family practice.
