Grand View Medical Company Named Quality Respiratory Care Provider
(February 15, 2012) Sellersville, PA – Grand View Medical Company, an affiliate of Grand View Hospital, has been named a quality respiratory care provider for residents of home care organizations by the American Association for Respiratory Care (AARC).

This is the second time Grand View Medical Company has achieved Quality Respiratory Care Recognition (QRCR). “Our respiratory therapists and entire staff are committed to providing the highest quality care in the community,” according to Barry Gorin, CRT, Assistant General Manager of Grand View Medical Company. “This recognition validates Grand View’s commitment to providing the highest standard of respiratory care by qualified State licensed respiratory therapists,” Gorin added.

Respiratory therapists (RTs) are specially trained and licensed healthcare professionals assisting physicians in diagnosis, treatment, and management of respiratory diseases. Grand View RTs provide care in patient’s homes and in extended care and skilled facilities. AARC found the qualifications of Grand View’s RTs to be consistent with national quality standards and guidelines.

In addition to licensed respiratory therapists, Grand View respiratory team includes certified driver technicians and third-party billing specialists to assist with home care needs. Services are available 24 hours a day, seven days a week and include same-day delivery, equipment set-up, and instruction. Grand View Medical Company is Joint Commission accredited and participates with Medicare, Managed Care and most other private insurances. Grand View Medical Company has provided the community with respiratory equipment, ambulatory aids, and other medical equipment and supplies since 1985. It is part of a suite of home health services that includes palliative, hospice, and home care, along with medical equipment.

AARC started the quality recognition program in 2003 to help consumers make informed choices about their healthcare. To qualify for the recognition, Grand View met the following conditions:
  • All respiratory therapists employed are legally recognized by the Commonwealth as properly credentialed.
  • Respiratory therapists are available to patients 24 hours every day.
  • Other personnel qualified to perform specific respiratory therapy procedures, and the amount of supervision required for them to perform the specific procedures is designated in writing.
  • The organization is accredited by a nationally recognized, third-party accreditation organization.
