Harleysville Insurance, a Nationwide Insurance Company, Donates $200,000 to the Grand View Health Foundation
The campaign seeks to raise $5 million to be used toward $15 million in project costs. Grand View will use funds raised for healthcare programs, including additional private rooms with a cutting-edge heart monitoring system in the newly renovated telemetry unit, state-of-the-art radiation oncology care through Grand View’s Regional Cancer Center, surgical suite renovations and increased community services, including expanded disaster preparedness initiatives.
SELLERSVILLE, Pa., January 21, 2014 – The Grand View Health Foundation received a $200,000 donation from Harleysville Insurance, a Nationwide Insurance company, to be applied toward the “Well Into the Future” campaign. Presented by Michael Browne, president of Harleysville Insurance, the gift represents the largest corporate commitment since Grand View’s campaign kickoff late last year.
Jean M. Keeler, JD, president and CEO of Grand View Hospital, commented, “We thank Harleysville Insurance and Nationwide Mutual Insurance Company for this generous effort to help Grand View carry out its mission as we undertake major hospital improvements. This gift will ensure that members of our community continue to receive the highest level of care close to home.”
“On behalf of Harleysville Insurance and Nationwide Mutual Insurance Company, I am pleased to continue our commitment to community values,” said Browne, who has led Harleysville through a transition as it combined its services with those of Nationwide.
Mark Cummins, Grand View Health Foundation trustee and Well into the Future campaign co-chair, was on hand for the presentation. Cummins, who recently retired from Harleysville Insurance, said, “Harleysville ranks among the top 10 corporate users of Grand View. This gift supports our employees, the community and the hospital.”
