Grand View Hospital Celebrates World Breastfeeding Week
SELLERSVILLE, Pa (August 12, 2013) – A group of women who attend Grand View Hospital’s Weigh & Learn for New Parents group gathered for a picnic with their families at the home of Stacy and Jen Pursell in Sellersville on Sunday, August 4 to celebrate World Breastfeeding Week.
World Breastfeeding Week occurs every year from August 1-7 to show support and increase awareness of the benefits of breastfeeding. This year’s theme was “Breastfeeding Support Close to Mothers.”
One of the most important aspects of continuing to breastfeed, even when going back to work, is to find other like-minded people for practical information and to discuss the ups and downs of life with a baby. These mothers, along with others, have been getting together twice a month since their babies were born to encourage and support each other.

Mothers do not need to be breastfeeding to attend the Weigh & Learn for New Parents group that meets at Grand View Hospital the second and last Friday of each month. All parents and babies are welcome. Each month, a topic for discussion is featured and a scale is available to weigh the babies. To obtain a schedule of group topics, please visit gvh.org or contact Phyllis Young, RN, IBCLC, at email@example.com or 215 453 4594.
