GVH Will Offer Hospice Volunteer Training
|Grand View Hospital will offer a hospice volunteer training session starting in September. The training course includes instruction in hospice philosophy, listening and communication skills, the experience of death, dying, and grief, and practical information needed for assisting patients and their families.
The professional staff of Grand View Hospital trains hospice volunteers. This training program provides volunteers with the history of the hospice concept along with practical experience. Throughout a patient’s illness, volunteers provide companionship and assistance, as needed.
Grand View Hospital Hospice is committed to meeting the needs of terminally ill patients and their families with skill, caring, and compassion. Volunteers are a vital part of the Hospice program.
Registration is required before Monday, August 19 by calling Grand View Hospital Hospice Volunteer Coordinator Michelle Bongiovanni, RN at 215-453-4149. The seven week training sessions will be held on Monday evenings, from 6 – 9 pm.
