GVH Auxiliary’s Annual Fashion Show to Feature New Fashions alongside Vintage Clothing and Hospital Memorabilia
(March 07, 2013) Sellersville, PA - Women are invited to the third annual Grand View Hospital fashion show featuring the newest styles alongside vintage clothing and hospital memorabilia at the PineCrest Country Club on Sunday, April 28. The fashion show is a special hospital fundraising event hosted by the Auxiliary, an organization dedicated to supporting Grand View’s mission to serve the community’s healthcare needs since the hospital’s founding 100 years ago.
Grand View Hospital Auxiliary president and fashion show chair Darlene Leidy said, “We wanted to do something extra special this year in honor of the hospital’s Centennial celebration. We’ve come up with an event that showcases how fashion and medicine have changed since the early 1900’s.” In addition to modeling today’s bright and bold designs, rare vintage clothing and actual hospital uniforms and memorabilia will be on display. The Auxiliary invites guests to get in on the fun by wearing a vintage outfit of their own.
Fashions will be provided by stylish women’s boutique Chico’s of The Promenade Shops at Saucon Valley. Leidy said, “We think we’ve hit on the right combination for family and friends to connect and see the latest fashions and some intriguing history - all in a beautiful location with a delicious lunch. This promises to be a fun and wonderful way to support hospital programs.”
The event, themed
“Showers of Fashion,” will be held in the elegant setting of the PineCrest Country Club in Montgomeryville on Sunday April 28. Doors open with a silent auction at noon, giving event-goers a chance to bid on a wide assortment of graciously donated items, including jewelry, Lenox china, a Vera Bradley bag, assorted gift baskets, tickets to popular sporting and theater events, and gift cards to area salons, restaurants, and local businesses. A delicious luncheon will be served at 1 pm with beef roast in burgundy sauce, dilled salmon, or pasta primavera. The fashion show begins at 2 pm with Chico’s fashion expert showing women how to make many new outfits using just a few basic pieces.
Tickets to the fashion show and luncheon cost $35 per person.
