(February 25, 2013) Sellersville, PA - Grand View Hospital is currently accepting nominations from community residents or Grand View staff members for the Ellis Greenspan Memorial Award. Grand View cardiologist Mitchell M. Greenspan, M.D. and his family established the award in memory of Dr. Greenspan’s father, Ellis. It is presented each year to a Grand View Hospital registered or licensed practical nurse. The criteria for nominations include:

• Consistently demonstrates compassion, care, and understanding of a patient or patient’s family during the course of his or her illness, and symbolizes that “Our Passion is Our Profession.”
• Displays exceptional communication skills with patients, patients’ families, and colleagues.
• Serves as a role model to colleagues and promotes nursing professionalism by demonstrating consistent excellence in patient care.

Nominations are requested from patients, patients’ families, or Grand View staff or physicians who wish to recognize a particular nurse.
