Grand View Hospital Receives Donation for Neonatal Care
(November 7, 2012) Sellersville, PA – The Brick Tavern Inn of Quakertown donated $1,850 to Grand View Hospital’s Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU). The special nursery is a Level II NICU equipped with advanced medical technology used in the care of sick and premature newborns. The restaurant made the donation by setting aside 10 percent of its sales as part of its “Charity Tuesdays” held in September. “More people dined in the restaurant during the fundraiser, showing the community’s support of Grand View’s neonatal program,” Marcia Short, general manager of the Brick Tavern said. Grand View’s Clinical Coordinator of Maternity Susan Minio, RN and Director of Development David Alderfer provided Short with a private tour of the NICU.

“Grand View has the only NICU in the community. Donations like this help us provide an extra level of care that keeps these newborns near their parents,” Minio said. The NICU is staffed by neonatologists of The Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia (CHOP) and specially trained
