Everyone Invited to Participate in Merry-Go-Run 5K Trail Run and Family Fun Walk-Run
(August 28, 2012) Sellersville, PA – Racers and walkers of all ages and abilities ─ individuals, groups, and families ─ are invited to participate in the 2nd annual Merry-Go-Run in Perkasie on Sunday, October 7. The 5K trail run and family fun walk/run is being held in conjunction with the Perkasie Fall Festival. The course begins and ends near the Perkasie carousel located in Menlo Park at Third Street and Park Avenue.

The fundraising event is sponsored by Grand View Hospital Auxiliary. All proceeds will benefit Grand View Hospice, dedicated to providing compassionate care for over 30 years. Last year’s Merry-Go-Run drew 140 racers in the 5K and 70 participants in the family fun walk/run, helping raise more than $7,000 for hospice care.

The 5K race will cover a scenic route in Menlo Park and continue on trails through Lenape Park. The 5K racers will cross an historic covered bridge and climb one good hill just before reaching the finish line. A day of fun is planned for all with free food at race end for all Merry-Go-Run entrants while supplies last. Community members are invited to enjoy free rides on horses and chariots of the beautifully restored carousel from 11:30 am to 5 pm. The event will be held rain or shine.
