GVH Nurses Request “No Gifts” for 2010 Celebration
(May 26, 2010) Sellersville, PA – Grand View Hospital’s nursing staff has chosen this year to give to those in need in their community. The staff requested, that in place of receiving a nurse’s week gift item, they would prefer the Administration provide an opportunity for the staff to give back to the community by hosting an organized food drive. Collection baskets were placed on each nursing unit and the proceeds distributed to the community.
The staff has seen the needs in the community escalate due to joblessness. “In addition to more people seeking their assistance, the local food pantries are telling us they are several thousand pounds behind on typical donations,” states Kristi Davies, RN, MSN, organizer of the collection.
Grand View Hospital, Bucks County’s first hospital, has provided residents of Bucks and Montgomery counties with comprehensive health-care services since 1913. Grand View offers a range of inpatient and outpatient care – particularly emphasizing the areas of women’s and children’s health, cancer treatment, heart care, and surgery and orthopaedics. |
