Grand View Hospital Auxiliary Completes $1 Million Pledge, Honors Volunteers, Awards Scholarships at Annual Meeting
(July 15, 2010) Sellersville, PA – The Grand View Hospital Auxiliary presented the hospital with a gift of $175,000 at its annual meeting held on June 16, satisfying the final $125,000 of its $1 million pledge to the Expanding the Vision Campaign. The Auxiliary donated the remaining $50,000 for new maternity and fetal care equipment including a SymBaby advanced infant patient simulator for nurse training and a newborn care alcove in the labor and delivery area.
Also at its annual meeting, the Auxiliary honored Barbara Matkowski of Hatfield as 2010 Auxilian of the Year. Barbara is the immediate Past President of the Auxiliary, is newsletter editor and continues serving on a number of committees vital to carrying out the hospital’s mission, including Festival of Lights, raffles, and other fundraising events.
The Auxiliary also awarded Ali Klingman of Perkasie the VolunTeen of the Year award and scholarship for more than 275 hours of volunteer service. Ali is a Pennridge High School Class of 2011 student.
Additionally, the Auxiliary awarded three educational scholarships to Grand View employees Sharon Lister of Harleysville; Matthew Lezoche of Perkasie; and Lorenna Placencia of Bethlehem. The Auxiliary’s annual meeting also included the installation of Jean Swartz, Auxiliary Vice Treasurer.
The Auxiliary supports Grand View’s efforts throughout the community by promoting good health practices and by raising funds to ensure that the hospital is able to continue its mission of making quality healthcare available to area residents.
