Medical Director of Grand View Regional Cancer Program, and
Chairman of Cancer Committee at Grand View
Dr. Siesholtz, a member of Bux-Mont Oncology Hematology Medical Associates, serves as medical director of the hospital’s cancer program. In this role, Dr. Siesholtz works closely with physicians, hospital administration, and members of the health-care team to ensure quality of care and compliance with the national standards for accreditation by the Commission on Cancer (CoC). He also sees patients at Grand View.
Dr. Siesholtz is board-certified in medical oncology. He earned his medical degree from Temple University. He completed his residency at Geisinger Medical Center and his fellowship at American Oncology Hospital.

Martin Hightower, MD
Radiation Oncologist and
Chairman of the Department of Radiation Oncology
Dr. Hightower serves as the Chairman of Radiation Oncology at Grand View Hospital. He oversees cancer patient management at Grand View Hospital and at High Point Cancer Center. With a special interest in brachytherapy, Dr. Hightower also provides consultations, treatment planning, and follow-up services. He also is a member of the hospital’s Radiation Safety Committee and is a key member in Grand View’s Cancer Committee.
Board-certified in radiation oncology, Dr. Hightower earned his medical degree from Louisiana State University. He completed his residency at Albert Einstein Medical Center and his internship Episcopal Hospital.

Edwin Shearburn III, MD
General Surgeon and
Liaison Physician to Cancer Committee at Grand View
Dr. Shearburn, a general surgeon, performs various types of surgeries at Grand View and has a special interest in breast biopsy. As the liaison physician to the Grand View Cancer Committee, he promotes physician involvement in the hospital’s cancer program. Dr. Shearburn also assists with the development of patient services.
Dr. Shearburn is board-certified in surgery and earned his medical degree from the University of Virginia. He completed his residency and fellowship at the University of Virginia Hospital. |
Medical Oncologists
A medical oncologist diagnoses and treats the entire spectrum of malignant diseases (cancer). They specialize in the use of medications, such as chemotherapy, hormones, and pain relievers, in the management of cancer.
The role of a medical oncologist is more than just prescribing medications. They care for you the moment of your diagnosis throughout the course of the disease.

Radiation Oncologists
If radiation oncology, also called radiation therapy, is prescribed for you, a radiation oncologist manages your course of radiation therapy. Treatments are given on an outpatient and an inpatient basis.

Surgeons
Typically, a surgeon removes the cancer and any surrounding tissue that may have been affected by the disease. Surgery may be the only treatment you receive, or it may be combined with other treatments like chemotherapy or radiation therapy.

Dorothy Barwis, R(T)T
Manager of Radiation Oncology
As the hospital’s manager of radiation oncology, Barwis works with other members of the radiation oncology team to deliver outstanding treatment planning and delivery, educates patients on the radiation therapy, answers questions from current or potential patients, and works to continually improve the cancer program. Barwis is also responsible for managing the operations of the radiation oncology department and its staff.
Barwis also developed the seed implant program, used to treat prostate cancer, at Grand View. She also is the facilitator of the hospital’s cancer support group.
She completed her radiation oncology training through the Radiologic Technology Program at Nazareth Hospital and the Radiation Oncology Program at Gwynedd Mercy College. Barwis is also a member of the American Society for Radiologic Technologists (ASRT).

Patti Parsons, RN, OCN, CCRP
Oncology Clinical Trials Coordinator
Parsons is Grand View’s clinical trials coordinator. She educates and supports patients during their diagnosis and treatment of cancer. Parsons also provides information about specific clinical trials.
She earned her nursing diploma and certification in oncology and clinical research from the Grand View Hospital School of Nursing.
Parsons is a member of the Oncology Nurses Society and the Society of Clinical Research Associates.

Cathy Haberle, RN
Breast Care Coordinator
As Breast Care Coordinator, Haberle serves as your advocate throughout the diagnosis and treatment processes. She expedites diagnostic tests and treatments, explains tests and test results, provides support and education, and connects you with second opinion services.
Haberle earned her nursing degree from Montgomery County Community College. She also earned a bachelor’s degree in Health Arts from the University of St. Francis. Haberle has more than 25 years of nursing experience. |

- Nurses – Our staff of caring, competent nurses are specially-trained in cancer care and treatment.
- Cancer rehabilitation therapists – Through the hospital’s Cancer Rehabilitation Program, our certified therapists help you manage the effects of cancer and treatment such as lymphedema, fatigue, weakness, and loss of balance.
- Radiation therapists - If you radiaton is a part of your treatment plan, our certified radiation therapists administer your radiation therapy.
