Volunteering
The personalized care provided by Grand View Hospice depends greatly on a special group of people--our volunteers.

Under the supervision of the Hospice Volunteer Coordinator, hospice volunteers are trained by the professional staff at Grand View Hospice and Grand View Hospital. Our comprehensive training program provides volunteers with the skills they need to fulfill the critical role of a volunteer.

Hospice Volunteer Training Topics

  • The history and philosophy of the hospice concept
  • Communication skills
  • Loss and grief issues
  • Spirituality
  • Bereavement

Hospice volunteers may serve in the following areas: Patient care, buddy visits, 11th hour support, bereavement, office and courier. Contact the Hospice Volunteer Coordinator at 215-453-4149 for more information.
