Heart Failure Rating

Heart failure is a weakening of the heart’s pumping power. With heart failure, your body doesn’t get enough oxygen and nutrients to meet its needs. Some of the heart failure standards of care include:

  • Patients given discharge instructions.
  • Patients given an evaluation of Left Ventricular Systolic (LVS) function.
  • Patients given blood pressure lowering medication such as Angiotensin Converting Enzyme Inhibitor (ACE Inhibitor) or Angiotensin Receptor Blocker (ARB) for Left Ventricular Systolic Dysfunction (LVSD).

The quality rating for heart failure measures compliance with the standards.
