Family Medicine at Skyview
If you are a member of a Health Maintenance Organization (HMO), your health plan may require you to obtain a referral from your family doctor before seeing a specialist. When requesting a referral, please call with your appointment time, include the specialist's name and phone number, the diagnosis and any procedures needed. Our office requires 72 hours to process your request, so please call us at least three working days before your scheduled appointment with the specialist.
Most medications can be refilled over the phone without seeing the doctor. Please allow 24 to 48 hours to refill maintenance medications.
Most results are available 48 to 72 hours after the test is completed. Please call after this time to discuss the results with the nurse or doctor. Do not assume that the results are negative if you do not receive a call.
Physicians are available by phone until 8 pm each weekday evening. After that time, another Grand View physician is available for your urgent questions. Simply call the office number and you will be connected to the answering service. If you are an HMO patient and desire to go to the Emergency Room, please call the doctor on call for insurance authorization.
